[History]
Born on September 1st 1713, Isobel was the only child of Gabriella Gray and Robert Bellator - her Father being the younger brother of the Duke of Bellator…Her Mother being the twin sister of the Earl James Gray. Even though she did quite well in her studies, Isobel usually slacked off on them since she was quite stubborn and rebellious, even to her Parents. While Isobel was intelligent to a point, her maturity wasn’t like the rest of her Family’s - it leaned more toward the younger as well as childish side and she also didn’t take her responsibilities that seriously, she just slacked off on them just like she did with her studies.
Though Isobel lived in Gray Manor - the ancient home of the Grays on her Mother’s side - she mostly stayed at the Bellator Estate which was the home and birthplace of her Father, Robert. The only reason she stayed at the Estate so much was because she loved to visit as well as spend time with her Cousins: Mayne, Sinara, Miaa and Marja. And when her Parents were absent from the Manor, Isobel usually went to the Bellator Estate until they returned. The contrasts between her Cousins and herself were utterly shocking because with the only gray eyes in the Family - in which she didn’t inherit from either Parents - the long dark brown curls and the slim form which she did inherit from her Mother, Gabriella, she was considered a beauty as well as a rarity by the people who knew her - especially her Family.
With the innocence that seemed to surround her as well as with her seemingly beautiful looks, many a Suitor asked her Father for her hand in Marriage, but Isobel always made Robert turn them away since she knew that she would find the perfect man one day to be with…To be Married to, to become his Lady and so much more. The days went by and Suitors continued to come and ask for Isobel’s hand in Marriage but every time they came, they were instantly sent away though not without a kind word or two to appease them. When a few months had gone passed, Isobel still hadn’t found the one man she wanted for herself, and to make matters worse, her un-exhaustible patience was positively thinning and it could clearly be seen by the others. She became annoyed and frustrated with practically everything - even the things she enjoyed doing: reading in the great Libraries of both Gray Manor and the House of Bellator [if she wasn’t spending time with her Cousins, that is], writing romance and fantasy novels as well as playing with the Family dog, Guardian and of course, hanging out with her friends. Though, after another month went by of her being annoyed, frustrated and impatient, Isobel slowly returned to her normal self: friendly, shy, nice, helpful, passionate, playful among others.
It was a few days before the end of August when Isobel’s Parents, Robert and Gabriella, announced that there was going to be a ball dedicated to her on her actual birthday. Isobel was quite shocked at this news since there had never been a ball or anything of the sort dedicated to her before, but then remembered that when she turned 17, she would be a woman as well as would be ready for society. So, with no time being wasted, the preparations for the ball went immediately under way: the invites were getting sent, the food was being prepared, the large as well as beautiful ballroom was decorated in the colors of the Gray Bloodline which were silver and black and many other things were also getting done.
On the night of the Isobel’s 17th birthday as well as the ball, the Manor was positively and absolutely changed from what it used to be. Once inside the Gates, it seemed as if you were in another place and time: in every window there were candles burning brightly as well as the sconces and chandeliers casting their light throughout the many halls and rooms. Every room seemed as if it were alive with guests, music and the food in which was prepared in the last few days. Though, it was the ballroom that seemed to captivate every single guest: with it’s black and silver hangings, large murals upon the stone walls and the dim lighting, it seemed as if it were a dream…A dream in which everyone present was having. Even though the ballroom captivated them immensely, the guests moved from room to room, enjoying the festive atmosphere as well as eating and talking while awaiting the entrance of Isobel - now a woman of society. It was half past eight when the lady of the ball made an appearance at the top of the grand staircase, swathed in a beautiful long silver and black gown with her dark brown curls piled atop of her head, little diamonds interspersed throughout it. As she stared down upon the guests with a light and inviting smile, she spotted a handsome man with dark hair and piercing blue eyes who was dressed in all black, from head to toe…And who was staring right at her - as were the others, but him more so.
